Playing Optimally on Timed Automata with Random Delays

چکیده
We marry continuous time Markov decision processes (CTMDPs) with stochastic timed automata into a model with joint expressive power. This extension is very natural, as the two original models already share exponentially distributed sojourn times in locations. It enriches CTMDPs with timing constraints, or symmetrically, stochastic timed automata with one conscious player. Our model maintains the existence of optimal control known for CTMDPs. This also holds for a richer model with two players, which extends continuous time Markov games. But we have to sacrifice the existence of simple schedulers: polyhedral regions are insufficient to obtain optimal control even in the single-player case.

Verifying Quantitative Properties of Continuous Probabilistic Timed Automata
We consider the problem of automatically verifying realtime systems with continuously distributed random delays. We generalise probabilistic timed automata introduced in [19], an extension of the timed automata model of [4], with clock resets made according to continuous probability distributions. Thus, our model exhibits nondeterministic and probabilistic choice, the latter being made accordin...
متن کاملUsing Interval Petri Nets and Timed Automata for Diagnosis of Discrete Event Systems (DES)
A discrete event system (DES) is a dynamic system that evolves in accordance with the abrupt occurrence, at possibly unknown irregular intervals, of physical events. Because of the special nature of these systems, different tools are currently used for their analysis, design and modeling. The main focus of this paper is the presentation of a new modeling approach of Discrete Event Systems. The ...
متن کاملFormal Verification of Timed VHDL Programs
The verification of timed digital circuits is an important issue. These circuits are composed by logical gates, each of them being associated with propagation delays. The analysis of such circuits is necessary to identify critical path and adjust the clock period of the circuit or to determine the stability period of input/ouput signals. These circuits are represented by a functional model desc...
متن کاملOn the Verification of Timed Discrete-Event Models
Timed discrete-event (DE) is an actor-oriented formalism for modeling timed systems. A DE model is a network of actors consuming/producing timed events from/to a set of input/output channels. In this paper we study a basic DE model, called deterministic DE (DDE), where actors are simple constant-delay components, and two extensions of DDE: NDE, where actors are non-deterministic delays, and DET...
متن کاملOn Decidability of Prebisimulation for Timed Automata
In this paper, we propose an at least as fast as relation between two timed automata states and investigate its decidability. The proposed relation is a prebisimulation and we show that given two processes with rational clock valuations it is decidable to check whether such a prebisimulation relation exists between them. Though bisimulation relations have been widely studied with respect to tim...
